DHL Global Forwarding has announced two names to join its Asia Pacific board: they are Lawrence Lee who joins as chief information officer (CIO) and Tim Martin who joins as new head of marketing and sales.
DHL Global Forwarding is the air and ocean freight specialist within Deutsche Post-DHL Group.
"Since we decided to create a single Asia Pacific operating division to capitalise on the opportunities of growing intra-Asia and global trade, we have made a number of senior appointments across the board," said Kelvin Leung, CEO, Asia Pacific, DHL Global Forwarding.
Martin is a 20-year logistics veteran who has spent the past four years as vice president, sales strategy and development, for DHL Express in Bonn, Germany.
Lee joins DHL Global Forwarding from Wal-Mart Global Sourcing where he led the Business Processes and Systems group. Lee will report to global DHL Global Forwarding Freight CIO Sylvia Steinmann.
"Asia Pacific is a key growth region of DHL Global Forwarding worldwide," said Leung. "With the latest appointments, we now have a team that is even stronger, swifter and more effective in capitalising on the fast growth of intra-Asia trade to meet and exceed the demands of the challenges ahead."
