Commvault launches new open data platform

Aims to address evolving requirements in data protection, archive and Cloud.

Enterprise data protection and information management company, Commvault, has launched the next generation of its solutions portfolio.

Commvault said the portfolio is comprised of product offerings in the areas of data protection and recovery, Cloud, virtualisation, archive, and file sync and share.

Additionally, the Commvault Data Platform is open and standards-based, aimed to help customers better leverage data, improve IT operations, and enabling third party innovation.

"Commvault's next generation software and platform are uniquely designed to help customers activate their data to unlock critical business insight and drive new value from their technology investments," Commvault president, chairman and chief executive, N. Robert Hammer, said.

"For customers, our new platform makes it possible to better manage the challenges of disruption, whether they are seeking to move to data to the Cloud, manage data in the Cloud, provide secure access to data, consume new technology to replace legacy systems, move from closed proprietary systems to open, or assure a sound data management strategy."
