Cultivate high-level skills, says Malaysian government agency

Malaysian companies invited to management games

KUALA LUMPUR, 2 APRIL 2009   Three Malaysian companies will be sponsored to compete in the Malaysia Management Game (M3G) 2009.

They will be the top three Multimedia Supercorridor (MSC) Malaysia status companies, according to government agency Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC).

M3G is sponsored by MSC Malaysia and supported by Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM), said MDeC chief executive officer, Dato' Badlisham Ghazali.

He invited all MSC Malaysia status companies to consider taking part. M3G is part of MSC Malaysia's continuing efforts to find innovative ways to cultivate the high-level skills our companies need to succeed in an increasingly competitive global arena.

According to the M3G organisers, the teams will be competing for RM6,000 (US$1,652) worth in prizes. The top three teams from M3G will also be fully sponsored to compete in the MIM-RICOH National Management Game, as well as the Regional Management Game organised by the Asian Association of Management Organisations (AAMO).

Computer-simulated business game  

Badlisham said M3G, a computer-simulated business game, will challenge participants to make real-world management decisions. M3G will be an invaluable educational experience for everyone taking part, said Badlisham.

Participants in M3G will pit their management and business skills against other teams in the areas of finance, production, investment and pricing, and experience making the tough policy and strategic decisions that are a part of running an efficient modern business, in particular during an economic downturn, he said. The results of the team's decisions will be reflected on the market share and profits of their simulated companies.
