Dimension Data added a concluding note that outlined the business trend in the 1980s, which was to pursue a full outsourcing of IT requirements. In recent years, organisations realised that IT and technology control was a critical part of their business success. "IT Innovation is the way forward to differentiate. Organisations needs to decide what parts they want to manage themselves, what do they buy as a service, where do they use consumption models such as cloud? They also need to consider about current assets that they own," said the company statement. "The reality is that businesses going forward will use a range of services models to deliver to their business. Multi-sourcing in a partnership relationship is the best model to leverage technology without "losing control" of a fundamental enabler to their business objectives. What will be key is the management across multiple providers effectively and multiple buyers."
