Supply chain solutions provider Intermec has announced new solutions tailored for the Malaysian healthcare sector as part of its ongoing commitment to the country, it said.
Intermec vice president and general manager for the Asia Pacific region Mike Muller said that new product innovations for Malaysia's healthcare sector included the SG20 family of handheld scanners, which featured the industry's fastest 2D imaging technology as well as the PC23d desktop printer for wristband and labelling applications.
"The new products are expected to aid healthcare operations throughout Malaysia by enhancing patient tracking, sample and bedside labelling as well as improving the tracking of pharmacy and medical records," said Muller.
"As the healthcare industry in Malaysia continues to face mounting pressure to improve efficiency and accuracy, Intermec's new portfolio of healthcare industry solutions, including the SG20 handheld barcode scanner and PC23d smart desktop printer, have been developed to support busy healthcare professionals," he said. "In collaboration with our partners and regional customers, like Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in Singapore, we have tailored our proven industrial printing and scanning capabilities into best practice healthcare technologies."
"Whether at the admitting desk, nurses' station, patient bedside, lab or pharmacy-the SG20 healthcare model minimises the time and effort to read a bar code, improving productivity while ensuring important verification processes are completed," said Muller. "The disinfectant-ready housing of the SG20, when combined with a protocol of frequent disinfecting, can minimise the spread of infectious diseases while providing years of reliable scanning under these conditions."
"To complement the scanner, Intermec's PC23d desktop printer provides the fastest print speed in its class," he added. "It is also optimised with a disinfectant resistant case, built to resist chemicals and cleaners that are commonly used in healthcare environments. Additionally, Intermec's INband wristband media offers a tested and proven wristband solution with the ability to withstand repeated exposure to moisture, water and sanitizers."
"Intermec's new PC23d wristband and label printer for health care is empowering to both the user and the health care organization (HCO)," said VDC Research Group vice president of AutoID, Drew Nathanson. "Its feature set and capabilities not only enhances usability for the multi-tasking, ever-busy health care worker, but it also enables the HCO to adapt and future proof."
