Sony today announced the launch of PlayMemories Studio, which enables users to view, edit and share photos and videos on a variety of devices including LCD TVs, personal computers, tablets and smartphones.

According to a media release issued by the company, the application enables users to scroll videos and photos, easily edit High Definition video content, and add visuals and sound effects to images “as if they were playing a game.”

PlayMemories Studio offers three different view modes – Timeline View, Map View and My List View, which enables users to list and play images in chronological order.

In addition to content stored on the PS3, this application also allows users to access videos and photos on external cameras, hard drives and storage devices connected via USB.
