UK power management software firm Certero intends to drive adoption of energy efficiency solutions in the Asia Pacific region beginning with the appointment of a Malaysia-based IT reseller IshanTech, it said.
Certero managing director John Lunt said as well as meeting the growing demand for its PC Power Management and Password Reset solutions in the region's public and private sector, IshanTech will support existing customers in Malaysia.
"The Asia Pacific market and our customers and partners within it are extremely important to Certero," said Lunt. "The partnership with a quality and respected business like IshanTech will ensure that we have the best support in place to fulfill growing demand for our out-of-the-box solutions."
He said Malaysian businesses could drive their energy efficiency plans with solutions like PowerStudio, which helps to efficiently manage all desktop elements. "[This] demonstrably contributes to green computing targets to ensure organisations can reduce their drain on energy and financial resources."
"The out-of the box, Web based PC Power Management solution features a management console that provides organisations with accurate data," said Lunt. "This includes the ability to add multiple locations such as buildings, cities, states and countries, multi-tariffs accommodating different energy costs and carbon dioxide values by suppliers and independent device kWh [kilowatt per hour] values [using an Energy Star database], to give the most accurate data values available."
"Coupled with a Dynamic Reporting Application - Acquaintia - this enables organisations to quickly ask questions via a parameter driven interface and displays answers through easy to understand powerful interactive and widgets that can be placed on your personal dashboard," he said, adding that the company's enterprise solutions would provide Malaysian businesses with the ability to significantly reduce costs.
"In addition, Passworks is an easy-to-use self-service solution that uses Web 2.0 technologies to allow users to reset domain passwords using a Web browser," said Lunt. "It is already helping public and private sector organisations to increase productivity by reducing calls to the help desk and improving service to users."
Headquartered in the UK with offices in Australia and South Africa, Certero is an independent software vendor (ISV) that works closely with companies such as Microsoft, VMware, Citrix and Sophos.
Power management should be integral
"A power management product should be an integral part of any company's power consumption reduction policy. PowerStudio is a timely and powerful desktop energy management tool and provides a very fast ROI [returns on investment] typically two to four months," said IshanTech sales director, Rames Bala.
