CommScope has recently acquired all of the assets of iTRACS Corporation to strengthen its position in infrastructure management.
iTRACS is a previously privately-held company that provides open, enterprise-class data centre infrastructure management (DCIM) globally. It has a 25-year track record of helping enterprises, of which a third of them are listed in the Global 500/ Fortune 500, improve operational efficiency, maximise capacity utilisation, reduce costs and optimise the business value of their infrastructure investments.
According to Kevin St. Cyr, senior vice president of Enterprise Solutions of CommScope, the acquisition will enable CommScope to provide customers with a broad solution for designing, managing, monitoring and planning data centre infrastructure.
iTRACS enables customers to view their entire physical ecosystem and understand how each device in the ecosystem affects the performance of all other devices in the environment through its open architecture platform that is coupled with a 3D visual modeling. ITRACS thus allows users to manage and optimise these dynamics continuously in a real-time visualised 3D environment.
To further provide customers with a comprehensive DCIM solution on the market, iTRACS intends to honour and build on relationships with open-systems alliances and partnerships.
"By joining CommScope, we look forward to creating a portfolio of open-systems intelligent infrastructure management that will drive a new level of business value for enterprises around the world," said Elizabeth A. Given, president and chief executive officer of iTRACS.
