New internationalised domain names lift language barrier

Opening all sorts of possibilities for Web addresses with new generic top-level domain names

Companies can establish their brand in the name they're best known for online. Today, when some companies begin to build their online presence, they're forced to use English names which may not be familiar to their audience. This creates a significant psychological barrier of entry, says Edmon Chung, secretariat for the ICANN Asia Pacific At-Large Organisation (APRALO), and chief executive officer of Hong Kong-based DotAsia Organisation.
