India, Japan battle for Africa telemedicine market

Part of overall clash for mobile dominance

The e-Network project was announced in 2004 in South Africa. In October 2005, the Indian government and the African Union signed a memorandum of Understanding to formalize the project.

Under the project, telemedicine patient end locations have already been set up in 11 Indian super-specialty hospitals which have been connected to patients end hospitals in African countries.
