Bank of Singapore hires Bahren Shaari as its new CEO

He will assume the role from 1 February 2015, replacing Renato de Guzman.

Bahren Shaari will serve as Bank of Singapore's chief executive officer from 1 February next year, announced the private banking subsidiary of OCBC bank.

He has more than 25 years of banking experience, and was part of the management team at ING Asia Private Bank that was acquired by OCBC Bank.

He also played a part in building Bank of Singapore's market position in Indonesia and Malaysia by tripling the assets under management over the past five years.

Bahren succeeds Renato de Guzman, who will retire from the position from end January and will stay on as senior advisor to the bank till 30 June 2015.
