Every year, the CIO Awards judging panel will spare no efforts to ensure the top winners are truly worthy of their victory. This year, the panel consisted of the following:
Subrato Basu, Vice President Asia Pacific, The Research Board (Gartner Business Unit)
Subrato Basu’s work background includes 21 years in the Asia Pacific, Japan, Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe region. Prior to joining The Research Board and Gartner, he served as CEO and a board member of a Samsung Group company, lending technical and management expertise to direct business activities. Additionally, he functioned as the Chief Technology Officer of eSamsung. Subrato is a member of, among others, The American Chamber of Commerce, Australian Institute of Management, IEEE Computer Society, Singapore Institute of Directors, and Singapore Institute of Management.
Rosina Howe-Teo, Group Director, Innovation & InfoComm Technology Group, Land Transport Authority of Singapore
Rosina Howe-Teo concurrently holds the position of chief innovation officer of LTA, responsible for the formulation and implementation of LTA's e-government transformation strategy. Under her stewardship, IT has become a strategic business group responsible for directing and managing LTA's technology investments across the whole organisation; leveraging on the strengths of private-public partnerships to bring innovation and nimbleness into public service delivery, while maintaining the strengths of good corporate governance and transparency inherent in the public sector. Rosina is also actively involved in promoting the competency of IT professionals in Singapore as president, ITMA (2004, 2005) and sits on the boards of the institute systems science of the National University of Singapore and the National Library Board.
Vijay Sethi, Professor, Department of Information Technology and Operations Management, Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University
Vijay Sethi specialises in electronic commerce, IT entrepreneurship, strategic information systems planning, IT productivity, and knowledge management. He is published in the top IT journals and internationally recognised for his research. He teaches MBA and executive classes on IT and e.Business and was the Director of the MBA Specialisation in IT for many years. His work is focused on digital disruptions, the economics of technology, social media and networks, data analytics, legal and IPR issues, and patterns of new technology evolution. Vijay has worked with a number of Singapore companies as a consultant and for executive education programs including Abacus International, International Data Corporation, Heller Asia Pacific, Maritime and Port Authority, Trade and Development Board, Singapore Refining Company, Refco, Deutsche Telekom, NTUC, IDA, and MOM. He is also one of the founding members of the CIO 100 panel.
