Provides network security and data protection certification for Malaysia-based customers and partners.

KUALA LUMPUR, 8 MARCH 2011 - Network security firm SonicWALL has appointed its Malaysia-based distributor Convergence Networks as its first authorised training centre in the country, it said.

SonicWALL director of sales for ASEAN, Ang Chye Hin, said Convergence Networks would provide Certified SonicWALL Security Administrator (CSSA) training to customers and partners in Malaysia. "Many customers are focused on tightening their purse strings and saving the initial cost of investment in security solutions and training. [This move] will help customers realise the return on investments that come with quality training on network security solutions."

Ang said Convergence Networks has made significant investments in its training resources and equipment to meet SonicWALL's quality standards and obtain training centre status. "To achieve certification for its instructors, the company obtained months of field experience, guidance and mentoring from SonicWALL. With the newly achieved status, Convergence Networks plans to further expand its security expertise among the IT community in Malaysia."

Convergence Networks executive director, James Lee, said: "With CSSA training, companies can enhance their 'trusted advisor' role in regional markets to attract more clients. In addition, their staff are encouraged to keep their credentials current since they know that their skills will continue to add value to the company's bottom line."
