Nurdianah Md Nur | Dec. 16, 2014
Enterprises leveraging the platform will gain access to Microsoft's and Accenture's cloud platforms, as well as be entitled to Accenture's consulting services and Avanade's technical expertise.

Enterprises can now better manage cloud infrastructure and apps by leveraging the new Accenture Hybrid Cloud Solution for Microsoft Azure.

The hybrid cloud platform will deliver new technologies to migrate and manage apps between private and public clouds in a controlled, seamless and automated way -- be it on demand, at speed or from a single console. Among its offerings, which are delivered as "everything as a service, are:

  • The Microsoft Cloud Platformof Microsoft Azure. This provides enterprise performance, hyper-scale and hybrid capabilities that are connected to Windows Server with Hyper-V, System Center and Azure Pack running in customer data centers.
  • The Accenture Cloud Platform, which supports multi-platform environments with self-service provisioning for any application. Its central dashboard controls cloud brokerage and management capabilities, and provides the governance, reliability, security and operations that enterprise clients expect.
  • An end-to-end spectrum of professional services from Accenture to help clients define and execute against their cloud goals.
  • Avanade's skilled professionals who are well-versed in Microsoft technologies.

One company that is currently piloting the Accenture Hybrid Cloud Solution for Microsoft Azure is Freeport-McMoRan, an international natural resource company. The company is leveraging the platform to prototype a new Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platform, which will securely connect, manage and capture machine-generated data from trucks and assets in the mine. The IIoT platform will also provide operations supervisors with a role-based mobile dashboard to analyse and react to near real-time situations in the mine. This enables supervisors to take immediate action on items that impact mine production, which ultimately drives revenue.

"With new demands being placed on IT departments every day, enterprises need to smartly connect their infrastructure, software applications, data and operations capabilities in order to become agile, intelligent, digital businesses," said said Pierre Nanterme, Accenture's chairman and CEO. "This unique collaboration with Microsoft and Avanade is one of Accenture's most strategic and important initiatives for driving enterprise-wide cloud adoption."
