Cloud native platform provider, Pivotal, has appointed Lionel Lim as its new vice president and managing director of Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ).
Lim will be based in Singapore and focus on boosting the company's growth across the region.
He most recently worked as the president of Asia Pacific and Japan at CA Technologies and before that served as the president and chief operating officer of Asia Pacific and Japan at Sun Microsystems.
"Lionel has a well-earned reputation leading high performing teams focused on customer success," said Bill Cook, President and Chief Operating Officer at Pivotal. "During Lionel's tenure as President and COO of Sun Microsystems in APJ, he was instrumental in the company's meteoric rise and high rate of customer success in the region."
Last May, the company's subscription software business - Pivotal Cloud Foundry and Pivotal Big Data Suite - crossed US$200 million and US$100 million in annual bookings run-rate, respectively.
"Pivotal is transforming how traditional enterprises and governments across Asia are doing business by equipping them with technology and next-generation software development capabilities to innovate and disrupt," said Lim.
"Crossing the $200 and $100 million dollar milestones is a great sign that Pivotal's cloud and analytics technologies are being embraced by customers, and I'm excited to work with our Asia team to help many more customers build and run software like Google, Uber or any venture-backed startup," he added.
