Apple was the leading manufacturer in Singapore during the first quarter of 2013 (Q1 2013), according to the newly released Millennial Media Q1 Mobile Mix Report.
The company represented 45 percent of the impressions on Millennial Media's network during this quarter with Apple iPhone continuing to retain the top mobile phone rank.
Position for the second largest manufacturer was taken by Samsung that accounted for a total of 39 percent of the impressions in Q1 2013. This South Korea-based manufacturer beat Apple in quarterly impression growth with 13 percent quarter-over-quarter impression growth in the given quarter.
Apple recorded a three percent Q/Q impression growth in Q1 2013 as per this report that focuses on mobile applications and devices as well as contains data on a wide range of topics including device and OS mix trends.
The report shows that in Singapore, smartphones were the leading device with 74 percent impression share and tablets drove 16 percent of impressions in Q1 2013.
Social applications gained impression share in Q1 2013 in Singapore; iOS led the Operating System mix with 45 percent impression share; and Android Operating System recorded 44 percent impression share in Q1 2013.
Samsung leads in Hong Kong
While Apple ruled the roost in Singapore, Samsung was the top manufacturer in Hong Kong with 56 percent of platform impressions on Millennial Media's network in Q1 2013.
A total of 13 Samsung smartphones were in the top 20 Mobile Phones, which accounted for a combined impression share of 50 percent in Q1 2013.
In Hong Kong, Apple represented 20 percent of the impressions in the Manufacturer Mix on Millennial Media's platform in Q2 2013.
The iPhone was ranked as the leading mobile phone in the top 20 mobile phone category, with 21 percent impression share on Millennial Media's network. Also, impression share for Apple devices continued to grow with 16 percent quarter-over-quarter uplift in Q1 2013.
Smartphones represented 78 percent of the impressions in the device mix and tablets accounted for 18 percent of impressions on Millennial Media's network in Q1 2013.
Android and iOS were the leading and the second largest operating systems respectively in Hong Kong.
