Cooliris partners Aibotix to offer drone photography

Nurdianah Md Nur | Jan. 9, 2014
Consumers can use the Aibot X6 to take aerial shots of landscapes or close-up shots of recreational activities and instantly share them with their private groups of friends.

Capturing aerial shots of landscapes or close-up action shots of surfing or skiing might be easier in future thanks to the availability of drone photography, which is fueled by the new partnership between Cooliris and Aibotix.

Aibotix is an innovator in autonomous aerial vehicles. Using Aibot X6— Aibotix's next generation multicopter with a built-in camera mount — and Cooliris Groups, consumers will be able to capture aerial shots and share them with their private groups of friends in real-time via their iPad or iPhone.

The partnership hopes to provide consumers with "very accessible and enriched way to capture and privately share amazing aerial photos and videos with their close group of friends," said Soujanya Bhumkar, Cooliris' CEO and co-founder.

Besides using it to take aerial shots, Aibot X6 can also be used to eliminate the hassle of manually capturing moments at an event or during a recreational activity.
