Asus has launched its AsusPro Series - the B Advanced Ultrabook and P Essential notebook - as part of its computer firm's first commercial business category in Malaysia, it said.

"Much research and preparations have been put in over the years to prepare for this moment when we can roll out our commercial business products - starting with our recently announced Ultrabook & notebook models targeted at enterprises and small and medium businesses (SMBs)," said Asus Malaysia country product manager for commercial business, CN Ng.

"Hence, we're really excited to introduce the new AsusPro series - under commercial business category (first time in Asus Malaysia), to meet the demands of business-oriented users - some of whom some are already avid users of our consumer products," said Ng, who presented both business notebooks during the launch.

"There is an increased demand for greater reliability of course by businesses and enterprise users," he said. "With the introduction of AsusPro series and its new features, we believe businesses can be more mobile with these powerful, easier and comfortable to use devices."

Asus Malaysia country manager, Jimmy Lin, said: "At Asus, it has been our ultimate objective to transform in order to meet the consumers' needs and expectations in today's digital age. That's why IT professionals all over the world choose Asus, as they know that our commercial notebooks are synonymous with quality and reliability."

The two new models are:

- The AsusPro B Advanced BU400 Ultrabook, designed for professional users, which has been tested to strict quality tests to exceed the MIL-STD 810G military standard. With a slim 21mm profile and weighing just 1.64kg, the BU400 has a durable aluminum and carbon fibre construction that houses a shock-absorbing hard drive. It is powered by the third generation Intel Core processors with NVIDIA GeForce 5200 video graphics hardware and has Intel Small Business Advantage, Intel Anti-Theft technology and Computrace LoJack for Laptops. (Available in Malaysia from mid-September 2013.)

- The AsusPro P Essential P45 for SMBs, tested to industry-standards such as drop tests, hinge cycle tests, and panel pressure testing. Along with anti-shock hard drives and spill-resistant keyboards, the device is powered by third generation Intel Core processors, while an exclusive Asus Super Hybrid Engine II delivers up to14 days standby. Data gets backed up automatically when the battery drops to five percent, and for greater security Asus SecureDelete completely removes confidential files.
