Malaysian government ICT agency Multimedia Development Corporation has announced the Malaysian leg of its 13th iteration of the regional Multimedia Supercorridor (MSC) Malaysia Asia Pacific Information & Communications Technology Alliance awards APICTA 2012.
Speaking at the APICTA 2011 announcement last year, Minister of Science, Technology & Innovation (MOSTI) YAB Datuk Seri Maximus Johnity Ongkili, said: "The MSC Malaysia APICTA Awards is one of the platforms that underline the government's ambitions to drive creativity and innovation in the new economy, which inherently leads to greater wealth creation, quality of life and societal well-being for the country."
"APICTA underlines our commitment to promote locally developed innovative ICT applications," said Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) chief executive officer, Datuk Badlisham Ghazali, during last year's announcement. "We look forward to more entrepreneurs taking advantage of this platform to showcase the Malaysian product's critical acclaim and marketability - all these are crucial steps towards a high-income economy."
Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC)'s 13th MSC Malaysia APICTA Awards 2012, which is a regional awards programme, will open on 4 April for submission of Malaysian nominatio. The nominations must be submitted online by 31 May 2012 at www.mscmalaysia.my/apicta. The full list of award categories and additional information can be obtained from the same website. Nominations from regional nominations will be announced later in the year.
