The next iPhone (iPhone 5S or iPhone 6) will come in a variety of colours and "at least" two screen sizes, according to reports. In addition Apple will launch a budget iPhone, with a price around $300.
Topeka Capital's Brian White believes Apple could be gearing up to launch a new iPhone with multiple screen sizes this July.
iPhone: different colours
A Japanese website claims that the new iPhone will come in three different colours, and will be launched in August.
MacRumors notes that Macotakara reliably predicted the new form factor for seventh generation iPod nano and the 4in screen on the new iPod touch.
iPhone: different sizes
In a note that followed a meeting with a company in Apple's supply chain, White wrote: "After our meeting with a tech-supply chain company, we walked away with the view that Apple will release the iPhone 5S in at least two screen sizes this summer and possibly three," reports Business Insider.
"Essentially, we believe Apple is coming around to the fact that one size per iPhone release does not work for everyone and offering consumers an option has the potential to expand the Company's market share," adds White.
iPhone: low-cost option
White expects that the new iPhone will be launched in July alongside a budget iPhone to address emerging markets. However, White believes that the low-cost iPhone will be priced between $300 and $350, which is higher than many market watchers anticipate, reports Apple Insider.
"We believe this price point is reassuring for investors that Apple wants to expand its market reach with consumers in developing countries such as China. However, the company will also manage its margin profile and brand accordingly," he said.
