Singapore's Chalkboard partners with Malaysia's Alliance Bank

KUALA LUMPUR, 19 APRIL 2011 - Malaysia's Alliance Bank is now able to offer location-based services as a result of a partnership with Singapore-based mobile and Web ad provider Chalkboard.

"At Alliance Bank, we understand how important it is to our customers to have immediate lifestyle access," said Alliance Bank head of consumer banking, Ronnie Lim. "Our partnership with Chalkboard not only enables our customers to locate the nearest Alliance Bank branches for their banking convenience, but also immediately connects them with lifestyle deals offered by our merchant line-up."

Lim said the bank would also share with its customers the latest available products and services that are displayed on Chalkboard's partnered mobile phone applications and websites whenever they are within a 2-kilometre radius of any of its more than 90 branches. "The coverage, which expands to all of Malaysia, also includes more than 500 merchants offering Alliance Bank card promotions wide ranging from daily deals, dining promotions, instalment payment plans to other perennial member privileges, thus attracting more footfall customers to the merchants in real time."

Chalkboard chief executive officer Saumil Nanavati said that Chalkboard offered an ad-network that brought appropriate promotions to potential customers when they are near the relevant business location or retail store. "The network places targetted ads or real-time promotions in third party mobile applications and websites, thus reaching thousands of nearby customers instantly. Chalkboard has more than 1,100 businesses in Malaysia using its services."

"We are very excited at the announcement of our partnership with Alliance Bank, a household brand name in Malaysia," said Nanavati. "This also marks an important milestone of Chalkboard's entry into the Malaysian market."
