Malaysian telecommunications provider Telekom Malaysia (TM) has announced its TM Media Delivery Service in collaboration with global streaming technologies provider Octoshape.
Speaking in late February, TM executive vice president, Global, Mohamad Rozaimy B Abd Rahman, said, "The new service is equipped with patented resiliency, network efficiency and throughput technologies to deliver the highest quality video without buffering. The portfolio of services rolled out by TM includes both Octoshape's video-on-demand services as well as its proven live video streaming services."
"Our first media delivery service TM MDS allows our customers to enjoy excellent HD [high definition] quality streaming video viewing experiences on the internet, which is among the best offering so far in the market," said Rozaimy. "This will be particularly beneficial during major events live held either in Malaysia or anywhere around the world, where the audience will be able to experience live streaming with no buffering, as if they are physically present at the event venue itself and we are indeed excited to bring this enhanced experience to Malaysian viewers in particular."
"With the extensive network and operational assets that TM brings to the table, we are confident the combined solution will bring a new level of consumer experience for live and on-demand Over the Top (OTT) Video to the market in Malaysia," said Octoshape chief executive officer, Michael Koehn Milland.
TM's Rozaimy said TM MDS would offer superior quality in addition to multiple features that included HD streaming, TV streaming, radio streaming, and digital video recorder (DVR) and on demand service.
