Yet another telecommunications provider in Asia is providing its subscribers unlimited data roaming access through the Bridge Alliance network.

Macau's Companhia de Telecomunicações de Macau S.A.R.L (CTM), a member of the Bridge Alliance of global telecommunications provider, is offering unlimited data access under the Bridge DataRoamUnlimited post-paid data roaming plan.

Under the plan, CTM subscribers can have unlimited data roaming access when they travel across the Asia Pacific region for a flat rate of US$10 per day. With eleven Bridge Alliance member operators across the region, the service is a cost-effective solution for CTM subscribers who frequently travel.

The Bridge Alliance members and their country of operations include Airtel (India), AIS (Thailand), CSL (Hong Kong), CTM (Macau), Globe Telecom (Philippines), Maxis (Malaysia), SingTel Mobile (Singapore), SingTel Optus (Australia), SK Telecom (South Korea), Taiwan Mobile (Taiwan) and Telkomsel (Indonesia).

Regional availability

Telkomsel was one of the latest Bridge Alliance members to offer the same service to its members. It made the same announcement only last April.

"It is our mission to provide customers with the best solutions that will complement their mobile lifestyles. With Bridge DataRoamUnlimited, our customers can now stay connected and fully utilise their data services at an affordable rate, when roaming overseas," said Vandy Poon, chief executive officer (CEO), CTM.

"Since the launch of Bridge DataRoamUnlimited by the Bridge Alliance member operators, we have seen strong customer demand for cost-effective data roaming solutions. With CTM's recent launch, eight of our member operators have made this available to their customers. We look forward to share more announcements in the months ahead as we continue to expand the availability of our best value data roaming offers to customers of the Bridge Alliance." said Annie Gan, CEO, Bridge Alliance.

Aside from Indonesia's Telkomsel and Macau's CTM, the other Bridge Alliance members offering the service are AIS (Thailand), CSL (Hong Kong), Globe Telecom (Philippines), Maxis (Malaysia), SK Telecom (South Korea), and SingTel Mobile (Singapore).

The Bridge Alliance said other members will soon offer the same service.
