SiTF gets ready to kick off its ICT Business Summit

The theme is ‘The Convergence of Technology & Innovation’

The Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation's (SiTF) ICT Business Summit 2013 will be held on 28 March 2013 for one day at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront in Singapore. The theme of the summit is 'The Convergence of Technology & Innovation'.

"The SiTF ICT Business Summit 2013 is the 'must attend' conference by C-level executives, senior management professionals, entrepreneurs, IT professionals and strategic marketers who are keen to know how technology can impact business outreaches and the art of leveraging on the convergence of technology and innovation to their advantage," said Vijoy Varghese, organising chairman, ICT Business Summit 2013.

The morning plenary session include an update of Singapore's ICT landscape by IDA chief executive Ronnie Tay, and a presentation on Google's principles of innovation by Andrew McGlinchey, senior product manager, Google Southeast Asia.

The Summit then branches out to two tracks in the afternoon, Track A is on ION Conference - Your Guide to Emerging Internet Technologies and Track B is The e-Generation - Tapping the Social Media Network.

Track A focuses on the business case of IPv6 and discussions on the deployment of Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC). Presenters include Geoff Huston, chief scientist, Asia Pacific Network Information Centre, and Richard Jimmerson, director, Deployment and Operationalization, Internet Society.

Track B features speakers who will be sharing their experiences in social media. "We are glad that Karen Tam, assistant general manager - Promotions & Marketing of Harbour City, Hong Kong and Professor Jan Recker, Woolworths Chair of Retail Innovation, Information Systems School, Science & Engineering Faculty, Queensland University of Technology, have both consented to share their expertise on connectedness on various social media channels, and tapping the social media network for corporate brand outreaches to today's e-Generation of gadget savvy and sophisticated consumers," said Ho Se Mun, executive director, SiTF.
