The annual Computerworld Singapore Readers Choice Awards (RCA)-often referred to as the 'Oscars of the Singapore IT industry'-programme culminated in yet another successful award night gala dinner at the Fullerton Hotel Singapore this Thursday (October 9, 2014) evening. Key executives from the 21 winning companies came to accept their trophies and celebrate together their success over some drink, good food and great entertainment.

The main star of this year's edition, the RCA 2014, was Hewlett-Packard Singapore (HP Singapore), which took seven out of the total of 41 solution categories to be had. Immediately following them were IBM Singapore, Microsoft Singapore, SAP, SingTel and Symantec Corporation, which took three awards each. Rounding up the line-up of companies with multiple RCA 2014 wins were Cisco, Fortinet, Riverbed Technology and, which garnered two awards each.

Other stellar performers in the RCA 2014: the Amazon Web Services, APC by Schneider Electric, Canon Singapore, Check Point Software Technologies, Citrix, EMC INTERNATIONAL SARL, Lenovo, NetApp, Samsung Electronics, SAS Institute and VMware.

In the RCA programme, awards go to vendors, products, services or solution families that score the highest in the areas of price, performance, feature sets, reliability and ease of use-as they are evaluated and ranked by Computerworld Singapore readers, who represent the core community of enterprise ICT users in the country. As such, the programme not only serves up the best measure of excellence in IT solution and services delivery by the vendor community but functions as a bellwether of trends in IT purchasing and deployment in Singapore.

The first to applaud the achievements of the RCA 2014 winners was Mark Hobson, CEO of Executive Networks Media, the publisher of Computerworld Singapore. "Despite budget constraints and the continuing saga of transformation, it is inspiring to see the innovative drive to perfection displayed by solutions providers here. By further building on partnership roles with their customers, the winners have set the Gold Standard of operating excellence even higher."
