AT&T supports Harley-Davidson's business expansion in India

Provides scalable and reliable network connection to the company 

SHENZHEN, CHINA, 04 NOVEMBER 2010- Under a three-year contract, AT&T will provide Virtual Private Network (VPN) and network integration services to support Harley-Davidson Motor Company's business expansion in India.

Communications company AT&T will connect Harley-Davidson's offices in India to the U.S. headquarters for this project.

Timely communication

Both companies already share a business relationship with AT&T India providing networking solutions to Harley-Davidson in the United States for many years now.

By providing network capabilities to sites in India, AT&T India will allow Harley-Davidson's employees in the nation to effectively and timely communicate with their counterparts in the United States.

In order to build the communications network for the new sites in India, AT&T India will also provide Harley-Davidson with network integration consulting, equipment procurement, staging, configuration, deployment and staff augmentation.

Reliable network

Harley-Davidson is relatively new in India. It began operations in the nation in 2009, and is now keen on expanding while developing the leisure motorcycling market in India.

Expansion requires smooth communications and to this end, the company is establishing a reliable and scalable network connection between the United States and India. This connection will be leveraged for data delivery and supporting a variety of applications.

For its expansion plans, Harley-Davidson wanted a global communications company that already had a strong presence in India and after evaluating other vendors it decided to select AT&T.

Commenting on this project, Anoop Prakesh, managing director of Harley-Davidson India said that just like in the United States, AT&T in India has the necessary expertise and capability to support the IT and telecommunications build-out of its India offices.
