Courts to sell new iPads in Singapore

Zafar Anjum | March 14, 2012
Singapore is one of the 10 countries in the world to launch the new iPad at the same time as the U.S.

Singapore's largest electrical, IT and furniture retailer Courts has announced that it will start selling the newly launched iPads from 16 March.

"The new iPad, with richer colours, razor-sharp text, better and faster performance and four times more pixels than iPad 2 can be yours on the same day as the U.S. launch this Friday, 16 March 2012," said the retailer in a statement today.

According to Courts sources, it is one of the selected retailers in Singapore that will have stocks in-store this Friday.

"The new iPad will be available at Courts Megastore as well as stores located at Causeway Point, Orchard and Toa Payoh," said Courts in its announcement. "For customers who wish to secure a set on the launch day, please visit any of the above stores. Stocks are available on a first-come-first-served basis."

The retailer has clarified that reservations for the device are not allowed. Alternatively, pre-orders of the new iPad can be made at any Courts store, after the launch day.

In a statement released Tuesday (13 March, 2012), Singapore communications services provider M1 also announced that it will be offering the new iPad beginning 12.01 a.m., Friday, 16 March 2012, at its flagship store in the shopping mall Paragon. Thereafter, the new iPad can be purchased from M1 at any of its other stores during regular operating hours.
