Opera devices SDK now ships with Bang & Olufsen television sets

Smart TV solutions developer kit installed in selected models by Danish manufacturer for distribution globally

The Danish electronics manufacturer Bang and Olufsen now ships the latest version of Opera Software Developer Kit (SDK) in selected models of its high-end connected television sets.

This was according to the Oslo-based provider of Web browser solutions, Opera Software ASA whose press statement said that the selected television set models are now shipping globally.

The Opera Devices SDK enhances the Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV capability of these television set models enabling superior video streaming and, particularly for premium content.

As such, these television sets are enabled to render Web applications such as Spotify and BBC IPlayer while at the same time making possible certifications for YouTube Leanback 4.0 that viewers may access online video clips.

Toolkit

The Opera Devices SDK is a toolkit for developing smart TV solutions and supports Web standards such as HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript, SVG, 2D Canvs and WebGL.

 The Bang and Olufsen television sets shipping with the Opera Devices SDK are the BeoPlay V1 in the 32 and 40 inch models and the BeoVision 11 in the 40, 46, and 55 inch models.
