Network security appliances provider Cyberoam Technologies, a Sophos company, has appointed Steven Kandasamy as its pre-sales manager for the region as part of an expansion plan.
Cyberoam Malaysia country manager, Pauline Jacintha, said, "Malaysian organisations have recently recognised the growing menace of sophisticated threats. But most of these organisations still haven't prioritised on the next-generation security products, which are inevitable to address the sophisticated threats."
"The market thus holds huge growth opportunity and great receptiveness for network security and end-point solutions," said Jacintha. "Keeping the demand in mind, Cyberoam looks forward to utilise Mr. Steven's experience for establishing a strong brand presence in the region."

IDC points to more security spend
Jacintha said that a recent IDC report on Malaysian IT security showed the need for "healthy spend in network security, endpoint security and other basic security solutions among organisations."
She said the study said 45 percent of the organisations across industries in Malaysia "have very high concern on the increasing sophistication of security attacks. There exists a growing need for fundamental security which integrates with advanced security technologies in order to tackle the increasing threat issues."
Kandasamy will work closely with the Malaysia centre while supporting partners in their customer acquisition for the region. In addition, he will drive the partner community and engage in delivering product certification trainings, product webinars, solution presentations and product updates.
"The channel community in Malaysia is highly competitive and is in constant lookout for effective growth strategies," he said. "With Cyberoam solutions, I look forward to enhancing these strategies with a great solution suite.
