Symantec has expanded its Incident Response Services to allow its customers to proactively address security needs, as well as enable continual security improvement and overall cyber resiliency.
Incident Response Services are a part of Symantec's Cyber Security Services business, which delivers integrated security threat intelligence and managed services that help organisations predict, prepare, and respond to attacks by modern adversaries, said the company.
Now available in North America, the UK and select Asia Pacific regions, the services include the following new offerings:
- Symantec Incident Response - Emergency Response Services, which helps customers to resolve incidents, return to normal operations and prevent incident recurrence while minimising operational impact. The service will provide customers with a report consisting of insights from analysis of Symantec's global intelligence network of approximately 57.6 million attack sensors monitoring threat activity in over 157 countries. The report can be used to enhance security measures, improve internal response programme effectiveness and prevent reoccurrence.
- Symantec Incident Response Retainer Services, which enables customers to adopt a proactive and programmatic security approach. The service will help customers assess their current incident response programmes, identify gaps and implement protections to better mitigate security incidents. As a result, customers will be able to improve their response times, lower response costs, increase overall effectiveness, and support a cycle of continuous security and response improvements.
"The launch of our expanded Incident Response Service empowers our customers to shift the balance between attack and victim, waiting and chance, and reactive and proactive by improving their incident response plans," said Samir Kapuria, Symantec's vice president and general manager of the Cyber Security Services business.
